Cheryl is one of our most popular trainers here at Nelson’s Nautilus Plus. She is an ACE certified trainer who is experienced in a variety of sports—from golfing to endurance sports—Cheryl strives to help her clients reach their goals. She has designed fitness programs for all levels of clients.

Cheryl’s warm and engaging personality provides a great learning environment. As a mother to pre-teens as well as teens, Cheryl is perfect for the popular Junior Nautilus which is dedicated to teaching the youth about the benefits of a life of fitness.

Cheryl is also a group fitness instructor. She brings her own unique style and humor to our popular Power Circuit class as well as the Core and Flexibility. In her spare time, Cheryl can be found working out to prepare for the variety of outdoor sports that she enjoys with her family.

Mark Pearson, B.S. ATC, B.S., M.A., M.Div.

Mark is the founder and Chief Instructor of Pacific Tae Kwon Do. He has developed fitness and martial arts programs for beginners as well as world class athletes. Mark has a sixth dan (degree) black belt with over 36 years of martial arts experience in a variety of martial arts including Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Escrima, Arnis, and Goju Ryu Karate. He is an eight-time Tae kwon Do National Champion and a three-time World Champion. In September of 2006, Mark was promoted by three of Tae Kwon Do’s Founding Fathers to the rank of 6th dan (degree) black belt. Mark has taught Personal Protection, Executive Protection, Women’s Self-defense, Police Officer Defensive Tactics, SWAT team tactics and Counter-terrorism Tactics for both the civilian and military communities.

Mark has a personal and professional commitment to the empowerment of all his students and clients. His creative approach provides a safe and supportive environment which allows his clients to reach their top potential. As a Life Coach, he has developed several groundbreaking programs designed to encourage, empower, and equip others to achieve their God-given dreams.

On a personal note, Mark is passionate about teaching self defense courses to women, senior citizens, disabled citizens, and abduction defense to children. He is also committed to establishing mentoring relationships within the school context bringing all people—young and old—together to become Champions of Life. An author and a popular speaker at Christian motivational seminars, men’s retreats, and youth rallies, Mark enjoys hiking and surfing with his son Cameron, ( a 4th dan).

Lisa is not only the Assistant Manager of Nelson’s Nautilus Plus, but she has been involved in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and an amateur ranked bodybuilding champion for over 10 years. Lisa has designed fitness and nutritional programs as well as posing routines for local bodybuilders and fitness competitors. Lisa combines her own experience as an athlete with her commitment to see others succeed to create an atmosphere of excellence for her clients. She has also empowered women of all ages who struggle with weight loss and body image issues to thrive in all aspects of their lives. Lisa is dedicated to helping young teens defeat obesity and put their feet on the path to a lifetime of fitness.

Lisa’s experience as a mother of three teenagers uniquely equips her to face the challenges of working with the youth of the community. The blend of her humor and motivational personality brings out the best in the variety of ages that she works with. Lisa also teaches a variety of classes—from her popular Power Circuit classes to her challenging Flexibility and Core classes—she teaches not only proper form and technique but provides a safe and inviting environment for her clients and students.
