History of Nelsons Nautilus

In 1988, founder Myron Nelson, along with his wife Terri, and two sons, Preston and Tyrus, opened the "Oregon City Gym" with a focus and commitment to helping their members build strong bodies.

Myron, a firefighter for 25 years, wanted to stay in the business of helping people. The health club business couldn't have been a better or more natural choice for him.

In 1996, we opened the doors to Nelson's Nautilus at our present location on 1715 S. Beavercreek Road. A beautiful 18,000 square foot fitness facility, featuring all the extras that you would expect from a world class health club. Nelson's Nautilus has remained a focal point of the community.

In 2004, Ashy/Nelson L.L.C was formed. Under the direction of manager Johnny Ashy and with the continued vision and support of founder Myron Nelson, we embrace the future while holding fast to our original vision and commitment to the Oregon City community. The good health and betterment of our members always has, and always will, come first. We thank all of our members for allowing us to be "your hometown health club."
